<![CDATA[<body>Mike Scott has been producing one of a kind wood vessels since 1985. His approach is intuitive, exploiting the characteristics of the wood by turning, sandblasting, texturing, carving and addition of other found objects or materials.
His work ranges from large scale sculptural vessels and objects to wallpieces and a range of black ash round bottomed bowls. He has exhibited widely in the UK, the USA and Germany and his work is in public and private collections.
Mike has acquired the name "Chai" (which he uses to sign his work), a shortened version of a Sanskrit word meaning "awareness" or "consciousness" given to him by his then Indian guru
